Recovering funds support the APEC Secretariat and the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Science and Technology Center for Disaster Reduction (NCDR) hosted the APEC Resilience Week in Taipei from September 30 – October 2. In total, 13 member economies attended the event and the event focused on enhancing regional resilience.

NCDR has implemented a pilot project in the community of Iloilo City, the Philippines, which actively echoed “Build back better” in the Sendai Framework of Disaster Reduction. The project proposes a “Plant back better” initiative that introduces knowledge of disaster risk reduction and selects a more resilient plantation of vegetables and flowers. The project implementation, improves both the micro economy and the food supply chain.
