Under the promotion of the Overseas Center for Clean Water and Sustainable Energy (WISE Center), National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) has established a tight academic collaboration with top research Institutes and Universities in Thailand. The development of international collaboration in renewable energy and environmental technology is important. Therefore, NHTU and Kasetsart University (KU), Thailand have jointly organized the 2024 International Symposium on Sustainable Energy and Environmental for Circular Economy (SEECE 2024) on August 4-6, 2024.
A total of 150 experts from different countries including Japan, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, India, and Taiwan attended this 3-day conference to share the recent work on the application of circular economy to renewable energy and environmental technology as well as to reinforce the international collaboration between Taiwan and ASEAN.
In the opening remarks, the President of KU, Professor Chongrak Wachrinrat, mentioned that the KU has focused on sustainable development goals and net zero emissions, especially developing biomass fuels and low-carbon technologies. Based on the exceptional research achievement, KU has set the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2035. Moreover, President Wachrinrat also thanked NTHU for the long-standing academic collaboration and great assistance in organizing the international conference and hoped that this international conference could create a mutual platform for all the attendees to innovate the collaboration on biomass energy applications and waste conversion.
