National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan, and Prince of Songkla University (PSU), Thailand, co-host a Joint Event from July 2 to July 5, 2025, in Hat Yai, southern Thailand, aiming to deepen academic collaboration on Science and Technology, especially on Biomedical Engineering, and promote innovative healthcare.

Led by Chair Professor Fong-Chin Su, the Executive Director of Taiwan-Thailand Science and Technology Center (TTSTC), accompanied by a distinguished delegation including Professor Han-Sheng Chuang, Chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at NCKU, and other faculty members. This collaborative initiative highlights a shared commitment to fostering international research exchange and cross-border talent development.

During the visit, the NCKU Delegation had a fruitful discussion with the esteemed PSU executive team, including:
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, President of PSU
- Assoc. Prof. Sunton Wongsiri, Vice President for Research and Innovation
- Assoc. Prof. Suppasil Maneerat, Director of Research and Development Office (RDO)
- Assoc. Prof. Surapong Chatpun, Acting Department Head, Department of Biomedical Sciences and Biomedical Engineering
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aziz Nanthaamornphong, Dean, College Of Computing
The four-day program includes:
- July 2–3: Summer School on Medical Innovation
Co-organized by PSU and NCKU’s Department of Biomedical Engineering, the summer school focuses on training future talents in the field of medical innovation, offering students and young researchers hands-on learning and collaborative opportunities.

- July 4: International Joint Symposium – “Collaborating for Future Healthcare”
This symposium will bring together scholars and professionals from Taiwan, Thailand, and beyond to share cutting-edge research and explore future directions in healthcare collaboration.

- July 5: Executive Meeting and MOU Signing Ceremony
An executive meeting between TTSTC and PSU leadership will be held to outline strategic cooperation. An official Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will be signed to formalize ongoing and future collaborations.

Representatives from the Science and Technology Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Vietnam and the National Institutes of Applied Research (NIAR) have also been invited to participate, further broadening the scope of regional scientific engagement.

This event marks a significant milestone in advancing Taiwan–Thailand academic and technological cooperation, particularly in promoting medical innovation and international talent cultivation in Thailand.
