A distinguished delegation from the School of Science at Mae Fah Luang University (MFU), located in Chiang Rai, Thailand, conducted an academic visit to National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) from June 22 to June 24. Initiated proactively by MFU following a key introduction by the Taiwan-Thailand Science and Technology Center (TTSTC), the visit aimed to strengthen ties and explore impactful collaborations with the College of Engineering and the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) of NCKU.

The MFU delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Surat Laphookhieo, Dean of the School of Science. He was accompanied by key leadership members, including Asst. Prof. Dr. Kitiphong Khongphinitbunjong (Associate Dean), Asst. Prof. Dr. Prathak Jienkulsawad (Assistant to the Dean), and Dr. Kittirat Saharat (Lecturer in the Bioscience Program).

The visit commenced on June 22 with a focus on engineering fields that bridge fundamental science and practical applications. The MFU representatives first visited the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. These tours provided the delegation with direct insights into NCKU's cutting-edge research facilities and laboratory innovations. Following a productive working lunch at the College of Engineering's Conference Room, both parties engaged in a general discussion session to explore potential joint research initiatives, particularly in cross-disciplinary areas such as sustainable materials and biochemical technologies.

On June 23, the delegation visited the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS). The focus of the visit shifted toward fostering future talent and institutional synergy, with in-depth discussions on academic partnerships and student internship collaborations. Recognizing the growing global demand for high-tech talent, representatives from both universities explored structured pathways for student exchanges and dual-training programs. Following the meeting, the delegation toured the relevant departments and advanced laboratories, gaining a comprehensive understanding of NCKU's academic ecosystem.
